Manual myofascial therapy
Myofascial therapy is a manual technique used for the mobilization of soft tissues such as muscles and fascia, which exerts its action in treating myofascial pain and painful syndromes on a biomechanical and reflex basis.
When the connective tissue, as a result of injuries, trauma, joint pathologies or
incorrect postures, presents a limitation of its movement, it might create a a tissue densification. A condition of this type, prolonged in time, can develop pain and muscle contraction, resulting in pain and restriction of movement.
Through the use of coded myofascial manoeuvres on certain points of the neuromuscular
band, the physiotherapist acts on the subcutaneous connective and interstitial
tissue causing a detachment of the tissue from the muscle that promotes
the melting of the contracture and the relaxation of the area treated with
anti-inflammatory and painkiller action.
Therapy is indicated for:
- Muscle contractures
- Cervical pain-low back pain
- Sports injuries
- Epicondylitis-epitrocleites
- Algodistrophic syndrome
- Arthrosis
