A world of wellness since 1996
Bibione Thermae opened in 1996, but its history begins much earlier. In the early '70s the drilling operations conducted by AGIP in the municipality of San Michele al Tagliamento, revealed the presence of artesian layers of thermal type a few kilometres from the beach of Bibione.
Further studies confirmed that below the extensive clay layer of the area concerned, at a depth between 400 and 500 meters, the water temperature reached peaks of 50°.
This led some entrepreneurs of Bibione to finance a campaign of studies and research aimed at discovering the healing and therapeutic properties of the thermal waters of the locality of Terzo and Quarto Bacino, coordinated by the then Head of Clinical Pathology of the Civil Hospital of Portogruaro, scholar and supporter of the benefits of thermal waters in the treatment of certain diseases.
The birth of the spa
15 years of intense work, from studies on thermal waters to the choice of the ideal place to create the spa of Bibione, the entrepreneurial passion of the founders, respect for the territory and the desire to enhance the area, led to the opening of the construction site of Bibione Thermae in 1995.

The spa of Bibione was immediately open to everyone, not only for the benefit of the customers of one or two hotels, enhancing the whole tourist reality of Bibione.
