Otorhinolaryngological treatments
Otolaryngology treatments (endotimpanic insufflations and crenotherapeutic politzer) are particularly suitable for treating rhinogenic deafness in children and adults. These therapies are often combined with inhalation treatment of sodium bicarbonate water, as problems of the middle ear and Eustachian tube are related to nasal and pharyngeal conditions.
These treatments cannot be performed during acute inflammation of the affected areas.
A thin catheter is gently inserted into the nasal cavity up to the Eustachian tube, where low-pressure air and nebulized thermal water are introduced, in order to restore the physiological endotympanic pressure. This treatment is often very effective in solving the annoying sensation of "dullness" in the ear.
For children, the insufflation can take place through the crenotherapeutic politzer.
This therapy consists in the application of a nasal toggle in one nostril, while the other nostril and mouth are closed. By making the child swallow rhythmically, the low pressure air and the vaporized thermal water penetrate through the Eustachian tube into the tympanic chest and promote its deconstruction.
ENT treatments are indicated for the following morbid forms (NEVER in the acute phase):
- Recurrent COUGHS AND COLDS
- Recurrent VIRAL INFECTIONS
- CHRONIC BRONCHITIS
- ASTHMA
- Recurrent EAR INFECTIONS
- Recurrent RHINITIS, SINUSITIS, PHARYNGITIS, LARYNGITIS and TONSILLITIS
