Cervical therapeutic pompage

The cervical therapeutic Pompage is a technique of manual therapy developed by Dr. Marcel Bienfait who provides manoeuvres of slight vertebral traction in progression by the physiotherapist.

It is used in most of the painful syndromes of musculoskeletal origin, in the results of post traumatic immobilization (whiplash outcomes), in arthritic pathologies, in pathologies of the spine (such as hernias and disk protrusions) where joint decompression plays a fundamental role in achieving therapeutic objectives.

The pumping technique is developed in three phases:

• Tension of the segment to be treated (the therapist slowly stretches without exceeding the physiological elasticity)
• Tension maintenance
• Return to initial state

The INDICATIONS are multiple since they are able to act on myofascial, muscular, antalgic and circulatory sides.
